it's officially fall here in raleigh...at least it has been the last two days. the weatherman tells me it's supposed to get back to the 70's by tuesday so i guess i can't put my shorts away quite yet. oh, well. you win some, you lose some.
with the arrival of fall comes the habit of layers. hallelujah, hallelujah.
the best way to layer? belt it, girl. especially when wearing a loose top and an open sweater. i have a lot of flowy, loose-fitting tops and sweaters because i love the look of belting them. notice how you can see that i do, in fact, have a waist when wearing this open sweater? it's the belt! it also adds some visual interest to the outfit, which is always a positive. [ i even layer my jewelry! on my neck and wrist!]
and notice that the sweater hits me at the perfect spot, just above the booty. depending on where the sweater hits you, it can look like a sweater (see below) or a weird is-it-a-dress-or-a-long-sweater-thing sweater. i try to avoid those because, well, they're kinda weird unless you wear them right.
