as you can see, i'm stuck at 20! i'm hoping to actually get to 52 before the year is over, but i need your help!

what are some things you'd like to do this year?

inspire me!

  1. Our list is posted here. It's our "couples" 101 in 1001 list but it might give you some ideas :)

  2. How about....
    - read a book you would not usually consider reading
    - try karate

My resolution for the year is to exercise every day of 2012. It doesn't have to be anything intense, just at least 20 minutes of physical activity per day. Lately I have been playing Just Dance 3 on my Wii. :) Good luck!

  3. That's a great list, we have a lot of the same goals. :-) My hubby seriously makes the.best.salsa! Nothing like having it fresh, it is soooo good. He also made quinoa and black bean burritos the other night, you can stick quinoa in just about anything. Can't wait to see the weekly outfit posts, I love seeing how other people put themselves together!

  4. I love your style. I also Loooove purses. If you are selling them, maybe post pics and we might beinterested in taking them off your hands

  5. I love making homemade salsa in my food processor! YUM! And I cooked quinoa twice last week! I'd love to give you the recipes. Email: valeriekgriffin@gmail.com or check out my blog: www.alongthewaywithvandj.blogspot.com for the recipes! Love your blog :)

  6. Pioneer Woman's restaurant style salsa would love to be made in your food processor :)

  7. You have a lot of good things on your list! I'm sure it will grow as you begin to cross things off and the year goes by.

This is my list of 12 things in 2012...

  8. Love this list! Can't wait to see what you accomplish.

  9. This is an awesome list! I want to do something like this! I'm also trying to read the Bible everyday, I use the Bible app on my iPhone and it's amazing. There are different reading plans, and it can send you reminders so you don't forget to read.

Some of my goals are to get better at knitting, learn to sew my own dresses, start cooking recipes that have always intimidated me, and read at least 50 books this year.

  10. Great list!! I would love to learn to sew, start a business from my home, and I was just thinking the other day, how I'd love to start reading my bible everyday as well and get in to a church my husband and I both love. Those are just a few of mine!:) Can't wait to see your "how you curl your hair" and "daily clothing post though!

  11. BTW--I got a great set of makeup brushes @ Sephora for $35 and they are real hair, not synthetic! Check it out!

  12. #4 is one of my goals as well :) I actually just got involved with the ministry at my church. great list!

  13. These are all pretty good. I drove through D.C. this last year, but didn't get to stop. Now I really want too...

  14. #4 is such a good one! I'm definitely striving for that in 2012. :) There's definitely a few health-related goals on my list, like getting regular exercise, cooking healthy foods, and trying to get a full eight hours sleep every night. :)

  15. Great list! I saw on there you want to sponsor a child. How about sponsoring/adopting/donating (whatever you want to call it) an animal as well? I know you love cats :)

  16. The hubs and I do a similar list every year. Some things that are on our list are:
    - visit 2 museums
    - take a picture a day
    - hold a yard sale
    - finish a scrapbook
    - fly a kite
    - make a new friend
    - make a piece of art for the apartment
    - weekend away with friends

Good luck with your goals for the year!

Haha... Meet the Robinson's, Bowler Hat Guy: "Oh, I love checklists!"

    Reminded me of this!

I would love to get organized this year, make a more conscious effort to eat healthier, and start a blog of my own! I'm loving this!

  18. I'm trying to learn how to curl my hair, am selling my handbags as well, AND just purchased my first DSLR camera!

  19. Great list! I have a list of 52 on my blog, too (except it's titled "Project 52") If you'd like to check it out for ideas, you can see it at www.outtanowhereblog.blogspot.com. There's a couple on your list that I would've loved to have thought of...but it's okay, I have plenty to keep me busy in 2012! :) Good luck on your list!

  20. Here's the answer for #17! http://www.tablespoon.com/recipes/vegan-quinoa-and-black-beans-recipe/1/

I made this recipe with my husband and we absolutely LOVE IT. We are not vegans (or even vegetarians), but this dish is pretty much like a healthier version of Chipotle (so hopefully you love Chipotle). :)

Do you have any sort of health-related goals? "Walk for 30 minutes at least twice a week" is a pretty good, manageable exercise goal.

  21. Awesome list! I would love to start reading the bible; I think I need to get a children's version though. :( I love lists as well!!

  22. can't wait for #2!! your hair always looks amazing! and it's just a little bit longer than mine is right now so I like to know what I can eventually do :)

  23. That looks like a pretty good starting point for a list! I usually start with a list of goals at the beginning of the year and tweak it as time goes by --- I have a couple of the same goals as you. I'd also like to run a 5K and get my house completely organized and KEEP it that way!!

  24. Some things I plan to do this year:

    - lose 20 lbs & get in the best shape ever
    - make some of my favorite DIY projects from pinterest
    - refurnish a piece of furniture
    - make a memorable phototransfer canvas painting
    - get my hair in a healthy condition
    - make a new recipe for dinner each week to add to our dinner menu
    - start blogging regularly and market it
    - volunteer at a nonprofit i am supportive of
    - pay off my car
    - get myself a good regular hobby

  25. Looks like you have a pretty good start to your list. I only made it to 12! Although participating in your High Five Friday is on my list of things to do! I am looking forward to it!

I love your blog and everything you write about is so relatable!

    xox, Amanda

  26. Hi Lauren, Just a little tip for #16. Try Crest 3D White toothpaste. I only use it at night because I don't want it to ruin the enamel on my teeth - ha...but it has really made a difference in the color of my teeth. They are much whiter -- so much so that it's obvious in pictures...kinda makes everyone else's teeth look "less white". Oops! For the first few weeks, I used it morning and night, and then went to night only, using a regular toothpaste in the morning.
Just a thought...and maybe a savior from having whitening trays made and that nasty goop they put in your mouth!! {AND THEN I LOST MY TRAYS WHILE TRAVELING!!!!!!!!} :(
    Good luck!
    Rebecca~ (trrcabbey(at)gmail(dot)com

  27. Actually I'm impressed with your list of 20 things! Clothes you haven't worn in the last two months? Give the threads a little longer to linger!

  28. I started a few things like your list. Last year I challenged myself to journal everyday. I did it...and I have continued into this year. This year, adding to my Bible reading everyday and journaling everyday, I am reading a new book every month. Not just any book, good spirit strengthening books. I can read fun books in no time flat but have a hard time with non-fiction. Oh and I want to go to Chicago again and lose at least 20 pounds.

    Thanks for your post!

  29. 8. sponsor a child.

This is a great ministry in Honduras. My husband and i lived down there with them for 2 years and they are always looking for someone to help out. Also a great thing about sponsoring one of these girls is you can go down and visit them at anytime!! They are amazing kids and this is an amazing ministry.

if you have anyquestions my email is Amandabranum@comcast.net

I love you blog by the way!
