if anyone's ever tried to tell you that details don't matter, i disagree. details make the world go round. well, not technically, but you know what i'm saying. simple changes, like a twisted belt, can make an outfit really interesting without going over the top. it's an understated detail that says, "yes, i did take more than 2 minutes to rifle through my closet and throw on this outfit. i even stopped to twist my belt". i'm telling you, it will make you feel real put together and on top of your stuff...even when you feel like you could not be more off your game.
p.s. dress: old navy | belt: target | shoes: gap outlet | earrings: francesca's

Agreed! It's all in the details! Loving your outfit.
ReplyDeletevery cute! where are your shoes from? looking for a new pair of wedge sandals.

Completely agree! Your outfit is so cute! Perfect for summertime :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you choose these accessories? I mean... I'm always in the dilemma of not having anything to add... but then I feel like I'm going out in search of something specific that will only go with this outfit. I'm very much wanting to get some belts for some of my dresses (they have that "waist" on them, you know what I'm talking about? That elastic waist? It's a strange look and needs a belt, but I have no idea how to get a color or style). What's a good place to shop for things like that? I need to accessorize in general, keep up the posts. You and your sister are my go-to every day how to be lady. ;)
ReplyDeletei completely agree!! i love your pink twisted belt ;)
ReplyDeleteYou can't post this without a list of where you bought these items! ;) I love it all. Please do share where you got all of the pieces. Thanks!! Kelly
ReplyDeleteoops! added a list at the end of the post!
DeleteI agree with kelly above!! Where'd you get the dress? and especially the earrings?! loving it all!!
ReplyDeletesorry! added a list at the end of the post!
DeleteLove your dress. Simple but yet chic with accessories styled with it.
ReplyDeleteNew follower of you. Awesome blog you have here!
Thanks for this! My mom used to always tell me to finish the look. You seem to have this down. It always looks like you are having a great time in the photos. Thanks for your energy.
ReplyDeleteYou ALWAYS look like you're on top of your game, Lauren!
ReplyDeleteOh so very cute!!! I love it! I've never knotted my belt before, but I might have to now :)
ReplyDeleteI'm curious as to how you do the knot to your belt. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same dress from Old Navy! I bought it in pink too because, c'mon, it was only $15! I didn't even think to throw a belt on it though.

ReplyDeleteYes! So true! I love how I feel when I take the time to put together an outfit instead of just throwing something on.
ReplyDeleteSo so so cute!!
ReplyDeleteSo simple yet so cute! I love the pop of pink against the classic dark navy and white pinstripes.
ReplyDeleteI love that look! When I went shopping with a client yesterday, we also bought a blue striped dress and a pink belt. Fate? Knotting your belt is a fun way to kick it up a notch (and it takes care of that weird, long tail).

ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love that belt. AND I love how twisting it takes care of the weird dangly part that you get when the belt is too long!
ReplyDeleteI love your style! Can I just steal everything in you closet?
