The dress is already so elegant that I would definately go with the more edgy look to make it a bit more interesting. It depends on the occasion though..

Elegant, for sure! I think the edgy is a bit too edgy for that dress. Maybe it would be better if the dress was gold/black/red/blue instead of soft pink?
Hmmmm....I usually love edgy! I think it depends on the occassion, if it's really dressy, then elegant. If it's less dressy then you can dress 'down' the frilly dress with the edgy side. What does it say about me that I want BOTH clutches? :)

Which is the focus? Edgy would take away from the dress and focus on the accessories. Elegant would add to the dress without taking away from it. I'd pick elegant.
