we've reached that time of year where you can dress for one type of weather in the morning, and it will be something completely different come afternoon. with the threat of rain showers daily, it's difficult to plan an outfit that is comfortable and appropriate for whatever the forecast may be.

this outfit is a really simple way to transition from sunshine to rain, and everything in-between. a fun spring jacket doesn't have to just be used as outwear, it can be an intentional part of an overall look. by sticking with the style and color palette of your jacket, you can create an outfit that flows together. in the winter, i look at outerwear as merely a functional thing. it's there to keep me warm and protect me from the elements, not necessarily go with my outfit. what's nice about the warmer temps and different season is that outerwear can be about style, too! with a bit of color, you don't have to shed your jacket as soon as you get to your destination because it is an essential part of the overall picture.

while i get a lot of use out of my winter coat, i find that my lighter outerwear pieces get used in a larger variety of ways, just like this.

anorak (50% off!) // peplum top (40% off!) // ankle jeans // statement studs // lip color // blush // saddle cross body (BOGO 50% off!) // flats
