Spring Home

we all transition our wardrobe from winter to spring, right? it's not really optional. you change your color palette, the kinds of fabrics you wear, the outerwear you need, etc. the real questions is, do you transition your home from winter to spring? i typically do. i use a lot of fur blanket and pillows in the winter, so those always go into storage as soon as the coooold of winter is gone. i swap out my bedding for something a little lighter and more colorful, too.

Spring Showers

we've reached that time of year where you can dress for one type of weather in the morning, and it will be something completely different come afternoon. with the threat of rain showers daily, it's difficult to plan an outfit that is comfortable and appropriate for whatever the forecast may be.

Travel Diary // Washington, D.C.

another trip with Mike to D.C. is officially in the books! we made it back home last night after a few days of enjoying some time with his family and exploring new parts of D.C. i love that we're able to travel and experience new things together - we've both caught the "travel bug" and often talk about where we want to go next.

Saturday Style | 37

one of my favorite outfits is something that is casual and cool, with a feminine touch. i'm a jeans girl, we all know this, so i tend to mix up my style with different tops and accessories. my go-to outfit right now is something like this: destructed jeans, an edgy (faux) leather jacket, and girly details like the lace top and statement earrings. it's easy and interesting, two things i want all of my outfits to be.

Beauty Products I'm Enjoying Right Now

i've been using a couple new beauty products that i've really been enjoying that past couple weeks. when the weather starts warming up, i like to try for more natural, lighter make-up. my skin is usually clearer in the spring and summer, so i don't feel like i need quite as much foundation to achieve the look that i like. i find myself reaching for more tinted balms and sheer lipsticks over highly-pigmented lip colors, too.

Spring Shoes

i don't know what it's like where you live, but spring has officially sprung in Chicago. we've had some 60 degree days already, but more importantly, there isn't a single shred of snow in the forecast. a-men. i actually don't mind winter all that much, it adds a little bit of magic to the city, but it's hard to beat walking out of your apartment in the morning in a light jacket and not being bit by a chill in the air. i'm already noticing that i'm opting for lighter colors and patterns when it comes to picking out my clothes, so it makes sense that my shoe preferences would change, too.
