I'm sure I'm not the only one who has grand plans of organization and productivity at the start of a new year...right?! I'm a pretty organized person, by nature, but I've definitely learned what things I've added to my workspace that actually keep all my things together and help.
I seem to have an exorbitant amount of papers, receipts, and bills that pile up in a week. Instead of taking up desktop space, I like to have some type of letter organizer nearby to file all my necessary papers and keep everything together. Notepads are in abundance in my office, mostly because I can't resist them when I see a cute one, but also because I actually use them! I like to think that I have a good memory, but I've learned that if I don't write it down, I probably won't remember it until sometime next week.
I'm also a serial calendar/planner wanter. In my office, at this moment, I have a large paper calendar on my wall, a Weekly Planner notepad, and a 2017 planner. Excessive, I know, but they all serve slightly different purposes. I like to have a month-view of what's going on - important things like travel, social things, or deadlines. I like a Weekly Planner to write important to-do's for that week and set goals. The 2017 planner is to plan not just weekly, but also the entire year! You better believe I already have, "Wedding Day" scheduled in my planner. You know, important things like that. I like to have different colored pens, too, to differentiate between appointments/to-do's/deadlines - social, work, personal, etc.
While I haven't been as productive as I wanted to be in 2017 thus far, I've certainly kept everything organized and have set myself up for success. So, here's to that!
